    central locking

My central locking system quit working. I checked the fuses and eveything was ok. i figured the central locking system control unit is bad. Anyone have any ideas what else it might be and if not has anyone changed the control unit before. Just trying to get ideas before i go and rip it out and put a new one in.

u have an alarm in there huh, maybe somethin in the alarm is screwing with things.

Sounds like it could just be the module, not sure on how to further diagnose it.

I have the same symptom where you had to pretty much lock every panel on your own. If it's not wiring then it'll be the control module itself.

I had that happen to my 318i, ended up being the connector had gotten rusty, so I had to replace it. You can always reset the system by ussing the trunk lock, you have to turn the key to one extreme and then hold it for a few seconds.
