well it looks like my head gasket is blown. The car over heated, and i still dont know why. IT barely got it to the red but it was enough to to it. Can anyone offer any advice before i tackle this job? Do i basiclly just need a head gasket set and head bolts? should i get it ported or anything while its out? I know i need to at least have the head checked for trueness or whatever. This seriously sucks so much fucking balls
kill me now

It sounds like all you need is headgasekt. check the head and all that stuff. you have timing chains i believe so i wouldnt worry with those, and do the waterpump i gues.

If you're changing the head gasket because it overheated... chances are, the head is slightly warped. Get it machined so its flat on the bottom.

Will any brand gasket be fine or should i get one form the dealer? I think i will get a set from bma cause there are other gaskets that needs replacing also. I think the head is probably pretty fucked. I think it got a lot hotter then i relize. At idle the car would read around normal temps, and when i would drive it would get higher. Then i took the t-stat housinng off and it was dry in the engine cause all the coolant went through the exhaust. So think it was just reading the temps of the air comming from the combustion chambersComment

just get the head machined and it should be fine. get a top end gasket kit, they're arround 100$ canadian... you can get a felpro one, they're good quality. and then just give the machinest the valve guides and the head, and get him to machine it (if it needs it) and then throw it all back together. headgasket kit 100$, head bolts <$20, machining arround 300$ (if it needs it)Comment
