    Alright, what's this piece...

Putting my car back together after tbelt/etc., I come across this thing. It has space in the connector for two wires, but curiously only one wire was going to it -- which has broke at the connector. It must have been previously repaired as the last few inches of the lone wire was crimp connected on.

Anyhow, if someone could tell me where it goes/what it does/what wires are supposed to go to it, I'd appreciate it. I had written "coolant temp sensor?" on it but it's not...just a connector....

Wouldnt it be a lot easier to find the missing plug?

I believe he said it could be a coolant temp sensor which would be my guess as well.

Not sure what car you have, but on the M3 that looks a lot like the injector plug.

My guess is that is the connector for the temperature sensor for the gauge.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

                  ^^^ agree.

The other connectors on the thermostat housing all have two wires in them.

The plugs for the injectors also contain two wires each.

Yeah, sorry, I should just look at my ETM and not be lazy. Anyhow, I found a matching male plug on the engine with a single wire, down near the bottom of the pass side of the block.

I believe it is the oil pressure switch here at #3: RealOEM

I will check the ETM for wire color before I hook it back up.

Looked at the ETM and yes it is the oil pressure switch (green/brown wire). Now, next question, anyone know how to get the wire back inside that connector? Cut it apart and solder?
