This all started a while back when my ABS overvoltage relay fried its little fuse. I replaced it and then about 3 months later it went out again. I replaced it yet again and about 2 days after replacing it, the ABS light pops on again.
I have a few questions:
Does anyone know what kind of fuse goes in that relay so that I could possibly solder in one myself instead of buying a new $25 dollar relay each time?
Also, I was wondering if anyone has any idea what would cause this to happen in the first place. Each time it died I was driving normally though when it died the conditions were pretty wet outside (I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it considering the conditions are wet very often in Washington).
So far the suggestion I have had are to test each wire involved in the ABS system to look for what might be causing the spike. That or seeing if replacing the whole computer does anything. I have checked each of the sensors on the wheels and cleaned them and have not been able to find any shorts or anything like that. I had the car for about a year before it started setting off the ABS light.
Thanks.
