    Is my AFM toast?

In the Bentley it says that the resistance should increase uniformly as the "door" in the AFM is opened. I just tested mine and it does just that until about half way through. Then it decreases steadily.

    Mine:
Steady Increase in resistance from closed to half-way.
Steady Decrease in resistance from half-way to completely open.

    Is mine done for?

im testing mine right now, and it does the same thing. run the temperature test on yours and see what it gives.

        2200-2700 ohms resistance across terminals 8 and 9 at 68 deg F

-e- do you know how to get into the afm electronics? someone suggested that the afm might have a blank section across the resistance line, and jordan seems to have repaired his back in the day.

Yeah, that's the air temperature test. I tested mine, but it was a bit low. Probably has something to do with the fact that it's about 45 in my garage right now...

You can pry the lid off of the AFM, but it's sealed on.

i did a little browsing on e30tech, it seems that new m10 ecu's have an operating range from 800ohms resistance when fully closed to 2300ohms resistance when fully open.

                  shiiiiiit.
