Fuel Injector Leakage - FPR Problem?

Last weekend I made a trip to Chattanooga to grab a hood from rs4pro3 and we got there I could smell raw gas under the hood. We noticed very small leakage from the return line when it was clamped to the FPR so Eli gave us some fuel line to replace it on the spot. In the process I noticed that it might have been seeping out around the o-ring to the FPR and a little bit of stainage around fuel injector #6 (the one closest to the FPR).

After doing some daily driving this week I popped the hood because I was smelling faint raw gas smells again when I turn the car off. It's very hard to tell except for where the gas looks to be staining the paint on my intake a brownish-yellowish color now around injectors 5 and 6. (The two closest to the FPR). I can't really tell if it's leaking from the o-ring @ the FPR either.

I guess what I'm getting to is if this is a sign that my FPR is going? Is it possible that the FPR is causing fuel pressure spike which is causing small amounts of gas to seep out around the o-rings of the 2 injectors closest to it?

Well I dunno. I've personally never had this happen to me, but I have heard that an fpr that's starting to go will let the pressure jump, and drop.........couldn't hurt to put a gauge on it and watch...............

With the car running pull the vacume hose off & plug it.this will close the fpr so you might be able to see the leak.

We actually figured it out last evening. The fuel leakage was caused by the fact that one of the bolt holes on thefuel rail was stripped that held the FPR to the fuel rail itself. I guess engine vibration and the fuel pressure caused it to work it's way to the point that the FPR was barely attached to the rail.

We replaced the o-ring and used a nut to keep the bolt down tight. Everything has been fine ever since.
