    Idle Prob

    i have a 1987 325 just curious if anyone knows problem but it does this.
    i will start it up fine in the morning the rpm's will jump to about 650. after about 5 min driving or when the vehicle is warmed up the thing starts to idle anywere between 1000 - 1800 rpm's thanks.

              My 87 325is did something like that until I swapped for the 173 ecu and 89+ idle control valve and intake elbow.

                Possibly the 02 sensor. Disconnect it and see if the problem goes away.

                      vacum leaks would be more of an issue when it's cold than when the car has warmed up.

                        If the idle screw was touched the car would always idle the same ;)

                          so im pretty sure its the idle air stabalizer will one work from a 83-87 533i they look exactly the same.

                            check the part numbers, realoem.com, is your friend, if they are the same then they will work.....
