    What is this connector

I found this random plug connector hanging loose next to my fuse box while I was diagnosing my fog lights not working. There is nothing in that location that looks like it should connect to and the wire is short. It has one green/brown and one brown wire, it joins some the wires pictured in the second picture then runs back to the driver side firewall. Anyone have an idea what this is.

    Cars an 1992 e30 325i cabrio.

Looks similar to the washer fluid tank connector, but I'm not sure what this is. What year/model e30 do you have?

It's a 1992 e30 325i convertible and the car had a non functioning aftermarket Alarm system in it when I got the car that I removed but it was installed on the other side of the engine bay. Idk about hood sensor did e30 come with these?

More common on Euro models. Don't know if option on US models.

This is the alarm hood sensor I think your talking about looks like a different connector would go to it.

Any other ideas of what this little guy goes to.

Id like to know too. My 1987es has this as well. The connector is common on multiple things on the car and vary by color yellow, white, grey, black denoting the inside shape of the plug...

mine either never had anything plugged into or its been a very very long time since

Mine has one too, 87 325is, I made a thread about it once and never really got an answer, I always assumed it was for some dealer installed alarm system.
