    Clutch pedal switch

Does any body know if the physical switch the clutch pedal makes when it is in its normal position is used for anything? Mine makes an annoying clicking sound so I just want to disable the damn thing.

The switch is part of the cruise control.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

So I should be able to just keep the switch pushed in?

Well you could do that, but if you ever depress the clutch while cruise is engaged, the engine will rev to the limiter. I've never noticed a click from the the clutch or brake pedal switches. Perhaps a new switch would help.

if you push in the switch your cruise control won't work.

why don't you just replace it?

Nope, the switch must be depressed for cruise to engage. Cruise disengages when the clutch pedal arm moves away from the switch and allows the switch to open.

yeah, you're right. still - it's a simple switch to replace and not that expensive.
