    Help diagnose AC

    Alright fellas,

I followed the DIY regarding the r-134 conversion in the DIY section and ha my system evacuated and tested to see if it would hold pressure. No leaks were found thus resulting to a happy news of it able to hold pressure. Also, the compressor kicks on when jumped to battery.

I charged the AC with ~27 oz of freon; but, the AC button does not light up when it is pressed in which is what I hope to be the last reason why my AC is not working. If it does not light up that would mean it is not sending 12v to the Compressor right? checked fuse #20 under the hood and that is good. I tried two switches and both no luck. Unless both are bad.

Any ideas? Keep in mind, I got the car without the AC working.

Did you properly evacuate the system before recharging?

The middle vent slider has to be at least 2/3 to the right to close the AC cutoff microswitch that is built in to the frame
