    Water Leak help

So as some of you know, Vancouver is the home of rain.

A little while back, there was a wet spot on the passenger side carpet, and this time, my driver's side floor was a wet.
It's probably something like a clogged drain? Where should I start looking?

    Thanks

I've cleaned up the "elephant trunk" drain on the passenger side. Problems remains.

I have figured out though, that the leak is due to the water that enters through the plastic grill covers on the bottom of the windshield (where the driver's side wiper attatches to)
What can else can I do?

Have you taken that grill off and looked to see what's in there?

I seem to remember a tech article somewhere in my list of bookmarks about a drain in the firewall that plugs all the time, think it might be the one that drains the grills you are talking about. Nothing 20psi couldn't blow out, or worse comes to worst, get to work rooting around with a screwdriver. I'll try to find the article.

I've cleaned our the "elephant trunk" looking drain on the firewall on the passenger side. It was clogged, so I cleaned it up, and upon pouring water into the above mentioned grills, I'm still getting some leakage into the cabin.

As for inside the grills, they look clean as far as I can see/tell.

well I took some pictures of exactly where the leak is coming from - so hopefully you guys could give me some advice on this.

Basically, when the water enters through the two grills described before, I get slow, drips of water onto the carpet.

That's exactly what I've been having in the past 2 years. I'm not sure where's the water coming in from, but it seems like it seeps through where the blower motor is.

this is bugging me sooooo much!
I know where the water enters and exit, I just don't know why the water escapes from that particular area.

The best answer I have is that your car is pushing 20 years old. I know that is no help.

Any chance the drain material is rotting away?

What you circled... isnt that the heater valves for the heater core?

I say the heater core is leaking. You need a new heater core. I would say just the heater valves BUT it is leaking on both sides so I assume its the heater core.

I thought that maybe I have a faulty heater valve and/or core as well, but wouldn't that leak coolant, and not water?
My problem is apparenty only when water gets into the grills I mentioned earlier.

There is a cover on the firewall (engine side) you have to take off to get to the blower motor and the windshield wiper motor. Take off that and look in there. See if you can see where water is going. If you dont see anything, pour a little bit of water in and see where it drains to. See if any goes under where the blower motor is.
