    Hard to reach fuel lines

Car is a 91 318i. How do I get to this thing? As far as I can tell dropping the tank is my only option, but what a pain in the ass to replace a hose...So before I get too far into this, is there any way to get to it without dropping the tank? Obviously the PO has tried to get around this before...

They're located above the fuel filter(in front of the rear driver side wheel)

Looks to be attached to the hard line above the #5 nut. Can that hard line be removed through the access hole maybe?

EDIT: Rather than bumping an old thread to update, if anyone cares I ended up dropping the tank, wasn't too difficult.

If you need to replace the line, you're better of dropping the tank. Chances are the other lines are bad as well.
If you don't have much rust (which seesm to be the case), you can do the whole job in ~5 hours.

It's really hard to get any leverage in there with the tank in place. It's fairly easy to drop the tank if that's all you're doing. If I was going to do it again I'd have a new tank all assembled and ready to go before I dropped the old one. All those parts are 20+ years old and are pretty rusty.

I was able to unscrew the original clamp from the hard line with an assortment of drivers and had to push the line on only using two fingers. Wasn't easy but easier than dropping the tank.

All that to say it can be done but not easy.
