    What could it be?

Went to get a haircut today and got into the old Beemer, drove for a couple hundred feet and poof...it died. Crank, crank, and crank but no start. A little sputter after substantial cranking but would not start. Pushed the car and a good Samaritan fellow Beemer drive stopped to help. Both of us were to old to push on this 90 degree day but we did into a nearby parking spot. Came back in a few hours and it starts right. Throws the 1223 code which is a coolant sensor issue. Disconnected battery and reconnected it and the code has been cleared. Any ideas?

Vapor lock is what I was thinking.

Grab a multi meter and ohm out your coolant temp sensor. Not sure off hand what spec is but a quick Google search should provide answer.
