Right, I have sourced myself a spare head for my 325i Sport which I would like to take apart and clean up.
I then want to do some headwork on it. Is there anything I can do myself by means of porting and gasflowing etc? I've heard that it's not adviseable to smooth out the intake ports. I'd also like to do my intake manifold while it's off.
Would it also be worth changing the valves and cam (big money I know) at the same time. I was thinking Schrick 284\272 but this would involve changing rockers, arms, springs etc etc.
I am having a 2.8 engine built and I would like something that I could use on my sport until the 2.8 is built and then I could swap it over onto the 2.8 as I'm guessing that the 2.8 will have the standard 325 head on it.
I was also thinking of changing the valve seats from 3 to 5 angle, what benefits does this have and is it worth it\easy to do? Also oversized valves????
What are your thoughts on this people? Do you know any guides or websites for polishing the ports myself?
How can I get the head cleaned once I've stripped it of it's internals?
