    Oil in my Coolant tank?

Last night I found what I think is oil in the coolant tank. I installed a new head gasket about 7,000 miles ago and also performed a coolant flush about 3,000 miles ago and everything was fine. Could I have a cracked head? Thanks for the help guys

I was told to do a valve adjustment after the new head gasket was installed but I never got around to it would the cause the head gasket to fail?

Wow - what a question. Did you install the head gasket or pay a shop? If it was a shop, I'd take it back to them.

Btw the car is running perfect. Heat works fine and the car does not over heat.

Good friend helped me install it. I ruled out an install problem because he has worked for BMW since the 2002 came out and is a great tech.

A car with a leaky or blown headgasket isn't necessarily going to run bad or overheat.

He replaced the headgasket 7k miles ago though so it SHOULDNT be leaking.
