    Wiper fluid won't spray

Hey guys, first off I know there are threads on this but I've replaced the common items and its still not working. Kind of threw parts at the problem stupidly.

Anyways, I've replaced the wiper fluid motor, the t valve, and the wiper stalk itself. The wipers work when I push up or down on the stalk , which makes me believe the relay and fuse is okay. But the wipers don't activate and fluid does not spray when the stalk is pulled back.

Obviously there's an electrical issue, if someone can give me any tips to track down the problem that would be great .. Thank you!!!

Mine had the same problem. I just took the washer fluid tank out and called it a day. Cleaned up the bay.

You need a new relay...the big black one in the fuse box.

If the new relay does not help then you'll need a new stalk.

Can the relay still be bad even though my wipers work at all? I've pulled the relay and the wipers don't work at all. Keep in mine the wipers work when I push down on the stalk but not when I pull back.

And I said I replaced the stalk.

Yep, I had one bad relay that caused intermittent problems. Sometimes it sprayed and other times not.

there is a check valve along the line that gets plugged up as well

Its more like a wiper module than a relay since it manages different functions so its entirely possible for some to work and others not. If the stalk is "known good" then swap in a known good relay and you will have your answer.

So i might as well bump this. Guessing its an electrical gremlin? Great because I have no idea how to tackle that. But heres what I replaced with new or known working parts-

                  Wiper fluid motor
                  T valve
                  Wiper stalk
                  Wiper relay
                  Fuse is okay

So im guessing somethings up with the wiring ? I need to learn the concepts of tracing power through wires. If anyone wants to chime in with some tips id appreciate it!

I'm guessing that you are listening for the pump motor when you pull back on the stalk? Can you hear pump come on at all?

I had a similar problem where mine would spray either but I could hear pump motor come on...the hose came undone in one of the nozzles and was spraying fluid on the inside of the hood between hood and liner.

Does the pump have power? Whhen the stalk is pulled?

Yes I listened for the pump when i pull the stalk and it doesn't come on . I replaced all the hoses so I know everything is connected .

At this I'm almost positive power isn't getting to the pump.

I'll bet one of the wires for the pump motor is broken. I chased this issue for awhile till I found the broken wire right at the plug. I haven't figured out how to fix it since there isn't any wire coming out of the plug to splice on. I haven't really worried about it since I've never owned a car with a working windshield washer setup.
