Hood won't open!!

My hood won't open! The hood release pulls so far out that I had to remove the under dash trim. I still feel resistance but I'm afraid to pull any harder without snapping the cable or handle... any ideas? Help!!

You can pop open the hood from the front with a screw driver then examine the cable from there to see if it needs replacement.

When you do get the hood open, lube the hell out of all four hinges. Yes, four. Then work the hood forwards/backwards until it's easy to work and you'll be good to go.
