325e's and 318is(M42) cars, if memory serves me correctly. Not really in the bay, I would consider it more like underneath. They lurk underneath the brake booster.

Ah, that makes sense. I have only worked on late model 6 cylinder fuel systems, but knew there were some differences between models.

Already fixed. Also, which e30 has the fuel filter in the engine bay?

Lol.. I already fixed it up.. the PO put the wrong line in so it couldnt handle it and popped.. so I just had to fined a hose and put it on... but now my check engine is on idk why I have get that checked out

fuel lines. I had a leak back there it ended up being one of the connections that plugs into the fuel filter (it is located exactly where you are describing).

Already fixed. Also, which e30 has the fuel filter in the engine bay?

Cigarettes don't burn hot enough to ignite gasoline, FYI.

Have a few fire extinguishers handy and have a friend prime the fuel pump while you look for leaks. Shouldn't need the extinguishers... just in case, you know?

Yah, that's where the fuel lines run- if you're really low, you may have crunched one.
Or it just popped (poped!) a leak, what with being 20- odd years old.

But it's a hands- on, no- smoking sort of diagnosis.

Ok I just want to know if its common... I just got to work today and when I walked out the car I spell gas.. looked at the floor and its dripping like crazy.. my cars really low so I cant really se where its from but the spill is by the back of the engine little to the driverside... am I in big trouble or what? If anyone has any clue let me know.. im most likely going to check it out tomorrow or wedbesday
