Previous idiots (and current one too)

This post will be as much rant / vent as it will be me asking for help.

To make a long story short, the previous, previous owner of the car I recently bought did some very shifty wiring behind the dash and installed two different kill-switches on the car.

When stripping the car out the other day I found one of those, a small switch located on the lower left kick plate. I pulled the switch and a few days later have since come to discover it controls the fuel pump. There are only a few loose wires hanging down around there, but I can't remember which ones were attached to the switch.

What colour are the factory fuel pump lines? Do they run through the area of the lower-left speaker? Side bar - what are the black electrical components located between the panels, visible only with the speaker removed?

Feel free to post sketchy stuff you've found on your vehicles when you bought them.

The black box in the driver's side speaker kick panel area is the central locking module.

As for wire colors, what year & model is your car? E30 wiring diagrams are here. You will be looking in the Injection Electronics section for fuel pump related stuff.

The wires don't have spade connectors on them for the switch?

Mine were green with purple (maybe violet?) stripe. Brown is the ground.

This was my mess of alarm and aftermarket central locking/power window controller.

Just a little project im working on

I'm sure there's something seriously uncool about replying to your own thread, but I'm going to anyway.

In the past two days I've discovered my newly acquired e30 had it's reverse position sensor wires cut, front left wheel-sensor missing, rear left wheel-sensor absolutely destroyed inside the spindle, rear diff sensor crushed, and to top it off, there were two (2) bolts and one (1) nut holding my guibo on. Yes, one of the bolts was just resting in there. It did however make for quick removal.

I haven't finished the tear down yet, but seriously people? ugh!
