Driving yesterday in the 325 and if felt like it was strarting to run out of gas (intermittent hit on acceleration) So I topped off and it wen away for a tiny bit, but still happened intermittently so I went and got the simple things for a tune up (plugs, fuel filter, injector cleaner, carb cleaner for the ICV, seafoam etc)
1. pulled one plug to realize that the cap on the plugs I got doesn't unscrew to accommodate the plug wires the car has, threw in the old plug (which wasnt that bad) and decided to just give it a go the next day when I got different plugs
2. I noticed all of the boots were dry, so I added dielectric grease to all of them (one at a time to not mix them up)
3. I pulled the FPR vacuum hose (after the FPR and before the intake) to try to find a spot to suck seafoam up into. Had the Mrs' start the car while I was pulling the hose off and it wouldnt start. The obvious explaination was that the fuel pressure wasn't regulated and the car wouldnt run without it unplugged. checked the condition of the vacuum line and it looked brand new, so i replaced it after cutting off a small section that was stretched out and threw on back on.
4. car would not start after that.
5. While she was cranking, I opened the throttle body and got it to rumble to a "start" and it ran, but really really rough.
6. I got in the ccar and turned ign. off and on to prime the fuel rail thinking that there might have been air in the system or something. It kinda started after this, but still rough.
7. I seafoamed the intake anyways and we went on a very spirited drive while smoking out the neighborhood and it ran GREAT..
8. now it starts and dies immediately unless I am holding the throttle open and when it does run, its choppy under 2k.
I went over everything I could have touched, checked connections on all plugs at the block and dis. cap and all was well. no arcing plug wires or anything fun like that. nothing unplugged. no fuel coming through the fpr vacuum hose..
WTF am i missing here?
is there a procedure for post fpr vacuum hose removal that I dont know about?
thoughts?
Thanks in advance
