    Car cranks but no start

Hey guys I'm pretty new to this forum and just bought my first 318 a few days ago. I bought the car not running and the previous owner said he took out the distributor without aligning it. We'll so I took it home and started to play with it. I have all data on my computer so everything I did is from there. First I set timing at tdc, put in distributor, then new rotor, then cap, then wires in right order. I aligned the distributor and everything looks just like all data is telling me. When I finally went to turn it on it just cranks but doesn't start. Anyone have any idea on what it could be? Any help is appreciated

Does it have spark? Correct rail fuel pressure?
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yes spark and yes fuel. After like 10 seconds of cranking it backfires into the intake it sounds like

Sounds like your timing is off still.. Try rotating the distributor from one side to another slowly. Have someone crank while you turn until you the car fires right up.

Sounds like timing is off to me, nothing against all data but maybe check the Bentley manuals procedure and double check
