    Cold Start Valve delete?

are there any drastic side-effects to deleting the cold start valve? things like the car not starting, running, or being completely undriveable when cold?

On an 84 318i, basically everything you just listed, yea. Unplug the electrical connector on the valve for a few days and see if you like how it is.

It won't start, and if it does it will take a very long time.

Take it off and see if its leaking. Replace, used one if you're broke.
            Don't create problems, fix them.
