Used vs New chip?

Hey does anyone have any input on buying a used chip vs. new? I feel like this part feels a much lighter stress load than some you might not buy used.. And the price difference could be severe..

it's a solid state device. it doesn't wear out - as long as it's not physically damaged, there's no difference between new or used.
