    What do I need to take this off?

    1989 325i timing belt replacement. Don't know how to take this off. What tool do I need? None of my allen wrenches fit.Click image for larger version

    I know this sounds dumb but are you using metric tools? Those should come off with a metric allen wrench.

          Iv done that with other tools. Happens to everyone. You just grab a tool and assume its the one you need.

              Be careful. Those allen key bolts are often over-tightened and make for a bad time as they strip easy. Can't tell you how many customers' cars we curse because of it.

                3mm allen wrench or socket, and the torque spec for those screws is 3Nm, so don't lean on them too hard.

                    Be careful not to push too hard on the bolts.
                    I broke the casted adaptor that it mounts onto on my last engine build.
