    Vibrating at high speeds HELP!!

My car vibrates violently at highway speeds. It only vibrates when the wheel is straight. If you turn the wheels a bit it completely stops. I believe my rotors are warped could this be the problem making the car vibrate. Btw on of my tires was low on air. After I filled it back to normal is when it started happening. Someone help me plz

There are lots of things it could be. You are going to have to be more specific in your description. Once you hit highway speeds(60mph?) does it start vibrating and get worse the faster you get or is the vibration localized at a certain speed, say 60mph but when you go faster the vibrations start to go away. Is the vibration coming from the front or rear of the car? Drivers side? Passenger side? Under the car? Do you have vibrations when braking? If you just want a list of things it could be, then:

    Uneven wear on tires
    broken belt in tire
    Guibo
    Center support bearing
    Drive shaft
    Differential
    Sub frame bushings
Wheel bearing(I would start with this considering turning the wheel makes it stop)
    Control arm bushings

too many things. Try to give a better description of your issue, but I would look into wheel bearings. Good luck with your endeavor.

I changed both the rear wheels bearings. It started at about 60 mph. It does the same vibrating when I brake but worse. Tires are fine

You still didn't say where the vibration is coming from. Nor if the vibration gets worse the faster you go or better. You have to be more accurate with your description. Or you are going to get a bunch of people just telling you something that happened to them. If it is localized in an area you can diagnose the problem a lot easier. Or you can just throw parts at it, start with the list I mentioned if that is the route you plan on going. And there is no way of telling you have a broken belt inside the tire unless you remove the tire from the wheel.

Srry. I believe it comes from the front drives side. It does get worse the faster you go. At first when u hit about 85 it went away, but now it does it from 60 up. I don't think it's the tires because I have another set so I threw them on the car and it ran exactly the same.

I would check the condition of the control arm bushings. But I think it would probably be the front wheel bearing. If you drive the car before it starts vibrating and brake and get no vibrations then you could pretty much rule out warped rotors. If your control arm bushing are in good condition then check the wheel bearing.

Check suspension components, and tire condition. I had something similar and it ended up being my wheel was out of balance.

Rotors would only cause the vibrations under braking.

Control arm bushings would be my guess. I had the same symptom and it went away after I did new arms and bushings.

it's not your rotors. I'd put money on control arm bushings as well.

Hey you're a local! I would agree with everyone else and say CAB's. 60mph is for some reason the sweet spot for vibration in control arm bushings. IDK why but it has been like that on my e30, e34 and e46. Especially when applying brakes.

I believe I also need to change the rotors though. I get some serious vibrations when braking. I'm not saying the the cause of the vibration but it should fix the vibration at highway speeds but that should be the cause of the vibrations while braking right?0

do the bushings first. "warped rotors" is honestly extremely rare.

Vibration under braking could be from the brakes, but it could just as easily be from what ever is causing the vibration at speed.

The general rule is that if you feel vibration from the steering when it is the front tires/suspension, in in the seat it is from the drive train or rear wheels/suspension. If you feel it in the brake pedal it is from the brakes.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
