    f***in ass hats

so, last night, had my car parked out on the road, and anyway, some bunch of ass hats tried to break into my trunk, looks like they jammed a screw driver in the lock and twisted the fuck out of it.... so my big question is how do you get the trunk locking mechinisam out so i can put one of my spares in?

Can you open the trunk? If so, there's two tens holding the lock in. If you can't - good luck. I had a euro e28 525i that got mistakenly dropped off at a salvage yard, and I tried to get in the trunk - took a good couple hours and I destroyed the trunk lid...

You can break the mechanism and get into the trunk without damaging the trunk. Just have patience and use force. After you get it open then just do like bimmerfantic said.

I know how you feel some crackhead slashed my top last night for 4.00 in change! If I find him I'm taking his thumbs.

i can't get in as it is now, but i believe if i take a punch and just hammer it through the lock, it should be enough to pop the lever in behind...

i don't know what they used, but they chewed pretty much the entire center out of the lock, and it's not clean enough to have been done by a cordless drilll...

I sympathize with your frustration, but let's refrain from the F-bomb in thread titles.
