    Deleting third brake light...

So the cabby has a nice coupe/sedan trunk lid on it, thereby effectively deleting the unsightly third brake light thrown on the e30 verts. Now my problem is, the check control panel thinks there's a brake light out since the third brake light isn't plugged in. How can I loop/bypass the third brake light wiring to make the check control be light-free? :)

Hook the light up and leave in the the trunk ;)

Find the resistance of the bulb with an ohm meter

Then solder that equivalent resistance in the wires where the brake light would go...

Do the cops notice that you dont have the 3rd brake light u think?

Is there a connector with 4 wires going to the 3rd light assembly?
If I'm not mistaken, if you jump pins 3 and 4, both wires green/black. That should trick the system.

I haven't tried it, im just looking at a diagram.

That would be the best way to do it. But too much work IMO
I doubt cops would notice but I wouldn't do just cause the fact I'm ALWAYS worried bout gettin rear ended

Do you know where the connector is?
I think my way will work.

Just to backup DaN, screw the resistor portion, just jump pins 3/4 at the brakelight.

You can view the schematic here to verify my suggestion if you wish.

Left side of the trunk - its kinda near the hinge - you'll likley need to pull the lining on the left side back to get to it. Its a wire with (I think) a two prong/hole plug (obvioulsy unplugged) to it IIRC.
