    '91 318is slicktop question

This may sound stupid, but how can you tell if your car was a slicktop? I bought a 318is and it has an aftermarket sunroof . Is there a vin number on the roof?

Look up/decode the VIN and it may indicate a sunroof delete option.

In any case, does it really matter as you have a sunroof now?

I checked the vin number and there was no indication of a sunroof option. You're right, I've got a sunroof now but I sleep better knowing these things about my car. I can also make sense of issues should they arise.

post some photos. Never heard of aftermarket sunroof on E30. Slicktop means car without sunroof option,

If your car has an aftermarket sunroof then it was a slicktop.

I've seen a couple 318iS done like this. Probably something the dealer had done to sell the car.
