Can't Hit 10 PSI after putting Airplane Fuel!

Before putting 5 gallons of L100(Airplane Fuel) {with less than 1/4 of tank} I was runing in my second stage(boost controller) 10 PSI, when I filled the with the gas, I warm up the engine after that, and made a ran......WTF??? my boost gauge showed me 7-8 PSI and noticed the lost of power due the less boost.

I stoped the car, turned up the boost controller to see if I could have more boost, nothing, stayed there, two time I did it.

I arrived at home, checked the BOV valve, re-adjusted it, nothing.... then with friend of mine dissambled the wastgate housing part ( Internal Wastgate) and we noticed that the hut sometimes the valve wasn't closing enough, we tight the hut, and then aseembled the housing back. Now is working good and closing good. Then I tighted (again and more) the wastegate.

Did a run, nothing....still in 7-8 and sometimes I think 8.8 or 9 PSI, the power wasn't like before filling withte airplane gas...

I took off the vacumm from the wastgate too see if the trubo starts to charge like crazy.... guess what! Nothing still in those damm PSIs

I checked all the charge pipes, and all are very tighted, also I don't hear any air leak.

Then went to the street ilegal races, and made two runs againt my friend's M3 E30, I smoked him even when I lost power (before the fuel), did another ran, when the stop light was green we launched,...the my engine failed, WTF????? sounds like trik tri k tirk tirk or something like that....and then I went slow due the problem...

Today I will take out the oil pan and check the metals..

The Idle is still good, without noise, but when I hit 1800 RPM or so...start to make nosie this trik trik trik sound....

Oh, BTW::: I added yeaterday the local fuel (97) to see if the problem was the special fuel, but even with that couldn't get the problem...

    Any suggestion?

    This is very wierd!!!!

what is your a/f ratio gauge showing? You're not detonating, are you?

Avaition Fuel contains LEAD hence the 100L designation. You might have @#$%ed your injectors.

                  My thoughts exactly.

Your car is "Unleaded fuel only" for a reason.

wait, Unleaded Fuel means what? with out "plomO"(I only know that word in spanish) it's a component of the fuel...if so, the unleaded fuel I think is for cars that have equipped factory CAT

That doesn't matter. The aviation fuel in heavier (much heavier) than regular unleaded fuel, and will sink to the bottom of your gas tank.

This is what a memebr form other Board said...

"Do you have an EGT gauge? How much advance are you running?

The 100 octane fuel likely burns a good bit slower than your normal pump gas. If you are running the same timing, you are probably getting high EGT's with that combination. Without the timing optimized for the octane, you could be losing power, and the loss of the power, and exhaust energy (even with the high temps) could mean you don't have enough to spin the turbine up to make the boost you need.

                          Thinking out loud anyway...

                          Steve

                          "

                          and I answered with this...

                          "

Yeah I was wondering the same.....the curious thing is , like I said above, I took out the wastgate housing, leaving a the sight the exahust turbine, this time I saw it, but I noticed that the turbine was very clean, like a kind of yellow color, like when you have very good combustion and see it in the sparks...

Time ago when I did the upgrade of the turbo, Is aw the impeller and saw a good amount of carbon depossit, thing that is normal...but this time don't, I think I fucked up the engine or something....

                          "

I think the problem goes for that....dunno

Aviation fuel burns no slower than any other fuel, it's ignition point is higher. So it resists detonation. I am unsure if your car is had a cat or not. regardless the factory wanted unleaded fuel used. The lead may have gummed up the balls on your injectors.

Aviation unlead fuel will burn well in cars if it doesn't have the 100L Symbol. I used to use it for street racing in the 80's during HS. But you can't just pull up anymore to the local FBO and pump fuel anymore. I would suggest pulling an injector and looking at the spray pattern on it.
