OBC doesn't display speed or milage

My 13 button obc will not display things like speed, range or mpg (display reads ----) but the clock, temperature, and code functions work fine. I have no problems with my instrument cluster. Any ideas what could be wrong or things I can try?

I removed the climate control/radio panel to get a better look at the connector... Everything looked fine except the green connector body was broken (no broken wires).

I just tried swapping in a known working computer from a 91 convertible and it worked. When I tried my unit in the vert it gave me a PPPP code... When I put it back in my car the error is still there. I tried pressing CODE and the reset button without any luck so I'm letting it sit disconnected for a little bit.

I reinstalled the working obc in the vert and it continued to work fine.

Is my computer toast, or it it possible my problems are due to a bad code plug in the back?

but... I just removed the code plug from the back and re inserted it and now it doesn't give me the PPPP error anymore... Still no reading on speed/mpg etc.

I just picked up another one on ebay... I'll try swapping the chips when I get it to see if that fixes it.
