I think it looks good as the silver is clean. Otherwise, it doesn't look nearly as good.

My valve cover paint job was pretty half assed. It already really dirty, and I started sanding the ridges, but stopped.

It had potential, but I'll redo it sometime. ;)

It helps to have nothing in the engine bay when cleaning it out. 8)
