passenger side directionals are blinking rapidly, all bulbs seem fine

I have a situation where my passenger side directionals are blinking fast, but I have all bulbs working and swapped them all to the driver's side, but the passenger side remains with the rapid blink. Any thoughts on this?

I can't speculate the cause, but I will let you know that the relay is load based--if the load is below a threshold it will make the lights flash faster(to alert you that a bulb is out). I believe the spec is <7W, but I can't remember exactly.

If you have another one, swap the emergency flasher switch as the directional lights pass through it. It could be a quick test to eliminate it from the possible issues.

Another thing to check is the material the bulb bases are made out of. They should be a silver color (nickel), but many times they're replaced with brass. This can affect the resistance in the circuit.

The common causes of this are the wrong bulbs (get them from dealer), corrosion in the bulb sockets, in the connectors, or in the grounds.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

If it is a late model NA spec car with dual filament turn signals, make sure you're not just seeing it blink the parking light (dim) filament.

            Northern,
That is what seems to be happening in the front. The front is dim. The rear seams fine, but more rapid than normal. I had swapped front bulbs to the other side, but it did not effect it. The passenger side is certainly dim.
When I put the hazzards on, they blink at the normal speed.

I had the exact same happen to me. It turned out that the ground cable at the bulb socket was not connected. I removed the bumper and made a proper connection. All OK now!

Definitely check the grounds at the lights. A bad ground will cause power to find ground through the second filament in the bulb and cause a fast flash.

Had this on both sides. One side was a broken wire, the other side was in the trunk on the round connector that screws in--it has that plug with all those long, round posts on it--one of those was broken off inside and only making intermittent contact. I fixed it by soldering some wire in place of the broken off posts.
