What gives? Car won't go over 55MPH.

Just had this happen this morning on the way to work. Car is an 83 323i and for some reason, it will not go above 55 MPH. Anybody have any ideas for me to check?

    Any help appreciated.

is it making any strange noises? Does it accellerate normally up to 55?

My buddies Audi had the same problem and it turned out to be something with the fuel injectors I think. Shot in the dark so yeah, take it for what its worth.

Need some descriptions as to how it revs.

"Having won more road races than any other model in history, the E30 M3 is considered by many to be the world's most successful road race car." - Simply put, E30s kick ass.
