Sup bros, so I'm trying to figure out how to wire my trailer harness. Followed some generalized instructions I found online and this was pretty much what I did. Please keep in mind that I was pretty hammered on Saturday and I hadn't drawn the proposed wiring down so no flags were thrown until I tried using the brakes or turn signals.

Needless to say all the lights would come on if I tried to use either of them. Issue is that on my truck, the brake lights don't flash when the turn signals do, it's a whole separate circuit. So I figured I'd try this and see if it works:

Basically, add in diodes before the splices so that current can't flow "backwards" and complete a circuit between the brake lights & turn signals. Thoughts? Is this theory solid? Gonna work? Let me know.
