Uhoh, will my Markd chip work with what Ive got?

Well as it goes, I ordered my 17-19lb MarkD chip for the 173 ecu and 91 octane. I just recieved it today and was planning on installing it along with my injectors this saturday or sunday.

Just to see what I would be getting into, I decided to look at my ECU but once I took the 4 10mm screws out I saw 0 261 200 380. Am I pretty much screwed here?

I think I have a complete 173 box somewhere, but is it compatable P&P with the 380? I did a little bit of searching and found a thread that says that the 380 is preferred over the 173, is that actually true?

I'd rather not dig around to find my 173, which is for my spare M20 that will be going into another car, so do any of you know if a chip for the 173 would still work perfectly in a 380? Fat chance, but I suppose I can ask. If not, I suppose I would have to email or call mark, eh?

Another question to any if you with MarkD chips -- The part number on mine is a little confusing. Its supposed to be for a 173, 91 octane, and the bigger injectors. Im sure it has the right burn but my chip is printed "E30 173.7k0-9117" whereas the only chips on his site with the "7k0" are for 93 octane, but neither of those end with 9117. The only one that ends in those numbers is the correct one I want. In other words, the print on my chip doesnt match anything on the site. Just seemed a little odd, any of you experience that?

    Cliff notes-
    Chip for 173 ecu go/nogo into a 380? (DOH! :()
    380 better than a 173 anyway?
    ...are they compatible?
Chipped 173 better than 380, anyway right?

173 chips work in 380 ECUs.
    380 is a slightly updated 173. Better I suppose.
    Compatible.

cool, I guess. Thanks a lot, I was getting a little worried there =/
I did find my 173 just in case though, so its all good. I still feel a little retarded for that but we'll see how it goes. :D
