What diff would be on an 87 325ic Auto car?

What diff would most likely be on a 87 325ic with Auto tranny? I was at the junkyard today grabbing the sway bars off the car and a M30 AFM. I looked at the diff but the Tag had been removed. So I'm wondering what ratio the diff would most likely be.

I know the 318ic has like a 4.1 which is just flippin insane, I'm not too sure on the 325ic tho, I would think that one would be higher b/c it is an automatic.

if you're asking wheather your car has a 4.1 or not, i don't think it does. The later AT cars (90+??) i believe had the 4.1LSD paired with the AT.

      I have an '87 325is and it doesn't have the 4.1

I also validate the 4.10 claims.

I'm trying to figure out what diff would be on this Junkyard 87 325ic. to see if it's worth pulling. Like what was the average diff put on them when they rolled of the production line.

4.10lsd was not available in 1987 for 325ic cars. Most came with an open 3.73.Few got the 3.73 lsd.So if your lucky its just a plain old 3.73lsd.

the LSD was an option that not many ppl got for the automatic... or so I've been told.

Exactly what he said. I did notice that iC's were more likely to have LSD's though, so there's a slight chance but odds are it's open but it's definately a 3.73 unless someone change it.

thanks guys, I may go back and do the good old wheel spin test and see. I was hoping maybe it would be higher then 3.73, as I've got that ratio on the 325is
