    Euro cluster gas gauge fix?

My car has a euro cluster installed and it has a 55 liter gas gauge. I have a 62 liter gas tank so when it says I am empty I still have a half tank left. Will it work if I swap out just the euro gas gauge with a US one for a 62 liter tank? Or is it more complicated than that?

Also if that works, can I swap the red needle on my euro gauge to the new one? Do they just pull off? I've never taken it apart before.

The gauge can be swapped. There are two gauges, one for a 55L tank and one for the 63L tank.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Mine is a 9/87 build which from my understanding is when the change from 55L to 63L took place. It looks like the newer style with the pump inside the tank, which I think means it should be the 63L, but I've never been able to put more than about 52L in, when I drive it until the gas light comes on.
Oh, and same thing: 55L euro gauge says empty even though pressing 1000 and 10 buttons on obc says 30ish liters remain.
