Jumping the battery in a e30

Hey all this talk about batteries in the Auto-X section (http://www.r3vlimited.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=774) got me thinking. How would you jump the battery in a e30 if you needed to. I would imagine just like any other car but from the truck instead of the engine bay.

I also know there is some sort of remote positive terminal in the engine bay. Could you jump the car from that as well. Just curious because i'd hate to be stuck and not know what to do.

just do it in the trunk. it's no different. put the positive terminal on the battery and the ground somewhere on the body of the car.

Actually, there is a remote positive terminal in the front of the car. I've had to jump my car once, lights were left on. The other times, I jumped someone elses car.

Something to note, you'll need jumper cords that are fairly far apart.

In the engine compartment, right in front of the passenger side of the dashboard, you'll see a little red + sign. Open that up, and you'll see the terminal. Hook positive there. Then hook the negative end on to the engine block - the little piece of metal sticking up right in front of the head.

Works great! No need to mess with the trunk unless stuff's corroded up front - which, if that's, it would need to be cleaned anyway.

      Hope that helped! :D

engine is easier than trunk since you dun gotta remove taht plastic thingy... and most cables you can easily split up to widen the + and - clamps

wow, good info, i had no idea what that thing sticking up was for. ive had to jump my car a few times from leaving lights on and ive always just attached the jumpers directly to the battery.

next time ill try your way!
