So a couple of hours ago I went and dropped my brother off at school, and then parked the car in my garage. Nothing out of the ordinary happened, but when I went to move it now, the coolant light on the check panel was on, and I had a huge puddle of coolant under my car. I looked around, and I took a couple of pictures of where I think it's coming from. What is this part, and why would I suddenly start leaking?

I would start at the radiator and all the coolant hoses.

Its not the little cork gasket on the throttle body is it? Strangley mine blew and i lost 1/2 gallon of coolant. Those fail pretty regularly.sigpicComment

i recently changed my thermostat and proceeded to lose 2 tanks of coolant before i got all the hose clamps tightened down enough to stop the leaks
so inspect all the rubber hoses and give the hose clamps a couple turns. i find a 6mm socket works much better than a screwdriver...especially for those clamps that are out of reach without a univeral joint and a long extensionJames

ok so i need help ordering a replacement hose... its a water that goes from the throttle housing to the valve cover... i order this part, thinking it was it:
Part Number 13-54-1-719-967-M21
"Water Hose, Throttle Housing Small Hose, 325/e/i/is/iC,iX (09/87-91)"
http://www.pelicanparts.com/BMW/cata...WATpmp_pg4.htm
but it's not the right hose. the hose i need has one opening that's larger than 3/4" (about .81) and the other is 1/2. is this wat i need?

The only hose that goes from the valve cover to the throttle body is a gas recirculation hose. No water travels through it at all.. As a matter fact no hose connected to the valve cover is a coolant hose. Are you sure you don't mean the hose going from the thermostat housing to the throttle body?Originally posted by czag13ok so i need help ordering a replacement hose... its a water that goes from the throttle housing to the valve cover... i order this part, thinking it was it:

You need to go to realoem.com and look at the diagram for your car. You should be able to choose the right hose from there.Comment
