I glued a small but strong magnet on the base of the crank to combat the floppiness. I can post pic tomorrow if you like.

I wrapped some electrical tape around the middle of the handle, just enough friction to keep it up and out of my way :)

I've been turning mine around and pushing it right up between the visors. Would be nice to fix it properly though.

Fixed 2 of these that were just flapping around, I don't use sunroof very often and it holds for me just fine.

Remove the handle off the car using a screwdriver, put it in a in a vice and carefully apply some pressure on dull grey metal parts that are hugging the shiny handle to reduce the gap between them. Go in small steps, remove it from the vice to check if it is not too tight. Reinstall. Thats it

There are two small rods that are pushed out by the small (but stiff!) spring you can see in the picture, they fit in round holes that are present in the grey part where the handle position is fixed. As time goes by the gap in the grey part increases and holes wear out a little - handle starts flopping around loose.

I bought a brand new one from BAV, non-genuine BMW. Worked for 2 days. :(
