Missing A/C parts... where do I start?

Decided to figure out why I don't get cold or hot. I found a page on E30 zone with all the troubleshooting when it comes to heating not working... but first I figured I'd look and see if I'm missing anything, and first thing I find is this:

Where do these connect to? I'm guessing it's 2 hoses that are missing, and I don't see another open valve that a hose would run to

Those are the coolant supply and return lines to the heater core.

I assume your car doesn't puke coolant whenever you run it, therefore the soft lines in the engine bay are probably blocked off (the proper way to delete the heater core), or possibly tied together.

well, I'm trying to get heat for the winter, this is the work of the PPO, since the PO said the car never ever had heat. Where would both hoses for the valves connect to? How can I figure out if my heater core IS in fact deleted?

Oh god. Not horrible it can be done. What engine is it 318 or 325? Follow this diagram: http://www.penskeparts.com/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=47309

I wonder if this was done because the heater core was leaking and they just didn't want to replace it. Be careful when you hook it all up!
