Could also be your t-stat is improperly installed (O ring should be on the outside of the t-stat). This caused my car to take a long ass time to warm up and then fluctuate engine temp based on if I was sitting in traffic in the summer or on the highway when it's -4 degrees outside.
Also when you go to add coolant after doing a flush, hook up all the hoses except the top rad hose and use that to fill the rad separately from the exp tank. Makes bleeding go by way faster. Mine took about a gallon.
