The lower you go on your sidewall size, the harsher the ride is.
For all you guys wanting 17's, the ride will be very harsh if you do this.
IMHO, 16's are the biggest rim size to run and still get a quality ride, but I am 36y/o and like my kidneys.
no dude, the bigger wheels you get keeping the proper tire diameter, the harsher the ride is. It's not the profile that does it.
If you run stretched tires, the sidewall size will be higher than if the tires were wider than the wheels, the ride would be equally as harsh. I'm not sure if that's what you meant, but you might want to think of a new way to phrase what you said before.
edit: this is Bryson talking
okay, let me rephrase this.
The shorter your sidewall is, the rougher your ride is.
For example: if your sidewall is 2" on a 14" rim and 1" on the 17" rim, the 17" rim will ride rougher.
well i got the rims today, they are oz superleggaz, i got 5 of them with 6 racing tires, they are in perfect condition, i'm going to be putting on 205/45/R17, they are the widest, and perfectly designed for an 7inch rim,
but here are the specs
my rims are 17x7.0 with an offset of et37
no rubbing issues but they come DAMN close to the strut tube, i have about a 1/4 of room, should i get some spacers??? they don't look tucked in at all, i'll just wait till i lower the car and then i'll snap some pictures and you tell me what you think.
btw i need hub-centric rings for the wheels. what size is the stock hub???
