Is there a non-delay Dome Light Relay?

I'm not near my car (won't be for a while) and I'm doing that thing where you're trying to solve your problem purely via the internet.

ANYWAY, my '86 doesn't have a dome light delay. If it did, it was never working properly in the last two years and functioned purely as an on/off switch when the door was open/shut.

The only part number I can find is 61311373974, which is a $100+ control unit that does wonderful things like keep your interior lights on for 8 seconds after you shut your door.

I know my switches and bulbs are all fine. Fuses fine.

I don't want a fancy control unit, I just want a simple on/off relay. This exists, right? Anyone have a part number?

Sure there is. It's located next to the central locking unit under the drivers front speaker.

If you think it's the relay, you can bypass it if you like.

For $40 I sell a upgraded relay that adds 2 delay modes, and automatic "movie theatre" style dimming.

There is no delay in 87 or earlier. I recall my 87 didn't have it, but the '89 and '90 did have it and it worked fine until this flimsy contact at the door handle assembly broke off and then the light doesn't come on immediately when you lift the handle like it used to.

            That's not correct.
