    battery acting funny

    please read.

(battery in trunk if it matters)

ok i was driving my e30 for a while and then the check panel started to stay lit even when my car was shut off (stupid check things that were mostly caused by bad sensors). it was like this for like a month and those lights stayed on and my battery would never die even when parking i over night.

well then my car sat for a week because and it finally ended up dying. so i jumped it and then drove it and then i shut it off, the next time i went to start it 30 minutes later it was dead again. i didnt want this to keep on happening so i grabbed some random barely used battery that was sitting in the garage and hooked it up (needed jump) because i figured the other battery was now shot. i then got the check lights to turn off by unplugging the panel. well now, even with those lights off, my battery is still dead every morning when i go to start my car. also, when i do get it started i feel like i need to give it gas or it will try to die on me again because it has before. battery does not die right away only when parked overnight.

Any ideas what would cause this??? keep in mind i am in PA and its like 15 degrees here over night and it sits for 11 hours.

wondering if maybe this battery is also shot, i have a wiring problem, or the battery is possibly not strong enough and is to small.

any info would be very helpful i dont know much when it comes to this type of stuff.

If your battery is 5 years old or older, replace it with a new one.

Something else besides your check lights are getting power while your car sits turned off. You have some kind of drain somewhere. Start with your fuse panel. Maybe a relay got stuck closed? Look for fuses that control your check panel lights and see if they control anything else, and check if that stuff stays on when the car is off. ie fuse 12, 23, and anything to do with the radio.

Your battery is (was) okay, but there is some draw somewhere you need to fix otherwise your car will keep killing batteries
