    Car loses power mid turn.

My car's had this problem ever since i learned how to drive it faster. I am pretty sure it's some sort of fuel starve problem. If I have below a half tank my car loses power mid to exit of the turn. if anyone has a fix for this i would be apreciative. i have changed the filter.

It's possiable that one of the baffles in the tank may have come loose, letting the fuel pump suck air intermittently.

what's your setup? if you're talking r-compounds on a race track at speed, then it might be fuel starvation. if you're talking fast on street tires, i dunno, shouldn't happen until your tank is running real low. check for loose vacuum hoses or something.

if a baffle was loose, i'd think you could hear it clunking around. maybe your pump is acting up or something?

definately sounds like a fuel tank problem

                yeah i'm stumped....

although I guess keeping it half full or higher would be a solution...

Hi there, if your car is equipped with a pre-pump in the tank and a separate main fuel pump, chances are the prepump is not working. it will suck air from the tank when the car is in the corners. I may be wrong, and this may apply for e30's from 86 and earlier or maybe 87's and earlier.
but if the car has a prepump its a very good chance that its pooched. i use the vw intank prepump (way cheaper, and you can buy it separatly) and it solved all the fuel starvation issues at the track.

                    i hope this helps

I thought i had the same problem, but it turned out the screen/filter on the bottom of the pump fell off. IF this happens, the pump is allowed to swing freely inside the tank [still mounted in the same spot, just imagine a swing set]

Check that first! If not, i have one of those resivors thats supposed to solve the issue. make offer
