    Piston dimple:good or bad

Getting my stroker bits together (m54b30 rotating assy) and found a small dimple on a piston. Now I've seen slightly worse but still usable. My concern is where the dimple is located. Should I scrap?

Depends on whether or not you like pulling your motor apart multiple times. Why risk it? I say replace & be safe

take a feeler gauge and measure side clearance of the top ring land to make sure area isnt pinched tight where dimple is ,if same all round just take a flat file and file to match existing contours and it'll be just fine to reuse since its above gudgeon pin area anyway

looks like it just got dropped onto something to cause the dimple

        ^^^what he said.

If it didn't hurt the ring land, i wouldn't worry about it.

The piston in my ETA looks like hell after it ate a valve about 40k miles ago... :D

Smooth it out so there are no raised edges and run it. Don't leave any sharp edges either.
