Who wants to fix my valve noise?

Is there anyone in the Springfield/ Eugene area who can help me (or just fucking do it for pay) fix my noisy valve? Seems to be only one, but I have adjusted 3 times...pissing me off!

if you've adjusted them correctly and they are still noisy, your problem is probably a worn eccentric.

        Really...

Andrew and I adjusted my valves on Saturday, and they ended up being noisier than before. The car runs better and is noticeably stronger, but the valves are pretty noisy. We adjusted them exactly according to the Bentley instructions, but this weekend we're going to go through again and double check them, it's possible we missed something.

new eccentrics are fairly cheap though!

but you should probably check yours out first, if you take them out you can easily tell if they are worn, they will have a flat spot on one side (they should be round). I might have some good used ones you could have, there's like 3 sets kicking around here somewhere.

haha, 350 miles to change out a $2 part? don't think so ;)

check them out, if they are bad I can stick a bunch in an envelope and mail them to you.

I have had similar problem, and when adjusted, after 500 miles or so they will slip back to flat spot.

Should screw and nut for eccentric be replaced at the same time? What about flat spot on side of rock where nut is held in place? Can there be any play there? Not when tight, but if the flat spots are a little worn?

                Anybody have P/N's?

Nope, just the valve cover gasket.
