Haven't had a chance to take it to a shop yet. And chance the timing could be off a tooth? It revs fine and accelerates smoothly except for a power cut out at 5500 rpm

Local Indy BMW shops didn't have the equipment (C0 Machine?) to diagnose it for me. It only had this problem after the rebuild. Running out of ideas and I can't legally sell it without smog in CA so it just sits in my front yard.

I have a car that was running stupidly rich and couldn't figure out why. Last week the car started stalling while sitting at lights, so at idle, and was getting harder and harder to start without giving it a little gas pedal. Cel flashed briefly when acting up. Did a lot of research and finally came up with a bad or worn out icv. Happened to have a brand new one in the cabinet and put it on the car. Car starts right up now, runs great, and no more running rich. I had three used icv in the cabinet too, but wanted to have a new part to make sure that the used ones were not going to get the same result. Had to make sure it solved the problem and could be absolutely sure if it didn't. I had no idea that the icv could make a car run rich and get poor fuel mileage but apparently they can send bad feedback to the Ecu and mess things up. Hope this fixes your problem!
The difference between porcupines and BMWs is that porcupines have the pricks on the outside!
