my car can be completely off yet the battery light stays on. i was thinking the alternator but someone also mentioned the ground wires may be bad? any one have some advice?

Disconnect your battery negative terminal. Take out the alternator and have it checked, im almost sure something is wrong with the voltage regulator. You could check the ground with an ohmmeter.sigpic

i agree, and if you find its bad its easy to replace just the voltage regulator and alot cheaper than the whole alt.Comment

i have always had my light slowly brighter and brighter as the voltage reg. went out, it not being on is how is suppose to be when the car is on, if the light is on there is a problem.Comment
